70's CONDOR by Tombo Guitars, Strat Model built with internal effects RARE codeVA135
Built by a group called the Condor Corporation Ltd. They
make Strat and Les Paul copies, and sometimes make some changes. They are a very
small guitar builder in Japan.
Built in effects including: phaser with rate knob, distortion with
level knob, booster, a treble boost switch and bypass switch to cut out
all the extra circuitry and just have the standard strat 3 single coils setup,
these effects are very useable and have a decent battery life, the distortion is
bright and fuzz like, the phaser has that classic 70's sound Neck is maple
with beautiful grain and is very straight. Frets have no wear, the Truss rod
works perfectly using the classic Bullet nut adjuster. Original pickups,
black bobbins Made in Japan, the guitar is in overall excellent condition,
being so old the condition is very good, it has a few very small ding&dong. The
main feature of this guitar is the built in effects unit as seen in the pictures.
it runs of a 9v battery which is only used to power the effects unit and nothing
else. The battery is inserted into the small metal plate on the rear, bottom of
the guitar. This is a very rare guitar with built in effects and a neck to die
for. This is a hardtail guitar with through body strings so the sustain is
awesome. It was built in Japan in the 70's and is one of the finest
example of it kind. The guitar is in excellent condition, the neck is Maple and
the frets show no pitting and are in great condition. The electronics are truly
amazing, they work off a 9V battery in a compartment in the back of the guitar,
and the pickups and electrics are all working well, the switch is 3 way, the
covers have gone a yellowy colour with age, really good patination. I have
treated all of the controls with switch cleaner so there is next to no switch
noise and the guitar sounds great with or without the effects. The guitar looks
remarkable unscathed for its 50 year life, there cannot be many in existence
that can match its condition.
